I realize that Finale 2012 was designed to be a composition program and not a DAW, which is why I am asking these questions. ![]() Is Cubase more versatile in this area or can Finale 2012 do just as much? Ultimately, I don't want to get a VST that won't work in Finale.Īnother concern is the editing features in Finale vs Cubase, primarily things like EQ, reverb, etc. For example, when I read the specs for East West Symphonic, they do not say Finale compatible, though they do say Sibelius compatible. Some VSTs do not say compatible with Finale. Can I accomplish the above by bypassing Cubase and just importing whatever VSTs I need into Finale 2012? Assign each channel to a sound in Cubase that will obviously have to come from whatever VST I purchase to import into it.Ģ. Import the MIDI file into something like Cubase, which I will have to get.Ĥ. Create the score in Finale 2012 using smartmusic sounds or whatever they're called and MIDI.ģ. However, if I want to get into rock based, alternative or new age music, I don't feel that the stock sounds with Finale GIFF are satisfactory.ġ. I am satisfied with the Garritan Personal Orchestra sounds for the orchestral compositions. I'm going to be creating a ton of royalty free music that I will be leasing out and/or selling.
